Amalia Williamson may not be familiar to you now, but we’re betting she will be soon. The Canadian actress’ breakout role arrived with the premiere of Netflix and Canadian streaming service CBD Gem’s Northern Rescue. There, she portrays a grief-stricken 16 year old and eldest of three siblings who is forced to deal with the death of her mother in a foreign town and at a new school. Being from a large family herself, it wasn’t difficult for Williamson to play a sister on screen.
“Bringing the love in to this character was easy,” she told HOLR Magazine ahead of Northern Rescue’s debut. “When you have siblings you have a responsibility to protect them–you’d do anything for them and you just want to because you know they’re young and impressionable like I was when I was their age. This character, although going through something I couldn’t even imagine–the loss of her mom–is still the oldest sibling and loves her younger brother and sister completely.”
While both the riveting family drama and Williamson’s first primetime role were well received—the first season has a 94-percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes—no plans for Season 2 have been announced. But Williamson has capitalized on the newfound fans that that followed her big Netflix debut by posting eye-popping pics to Instagram on the regular. She may play a teenager on the show, but in real-life, Williamson is in her mid-twenties.
Her exact age is unclear. Search “Amalia Williamson age” on Google, and celebrity bio sites list June 2, 1994 as her birthday. While the year appears to be correct, the month and day are not—Williamson’s real birthday is October 3, 1994, according to her most recent Instagram post. That would put Amalia Williamson’s age at 24. Bottom line: There’s no reason to feel bad about basking in her beauty below:
