On this episode of “Classic Cocktails You Should Know How to Make,” we’ll be exploring the wonderful world of gin. Fresh, herbal, and super versatile, a good bottle of gin goes a lot further than making a humble gin and tonic.
And so, here are five essential gin cocktails every man should know how to make.
Gin Martini
- 2 ¾ oz Gin
- ¾ oz Dry Vermouth
Add all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice and stir to combine. Strain into chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon twist or olives.
Gin Gimlet
- 2 oz Gin
- ¾ oz Lime
- ¾ oz Simple Syrup
Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Gin Rickey
- 2 oz Gin
- 1/2 oz fresh Lime Juice
- Club soda to top
Fill a highball glass with ice and add in gin and lime juice. Stir to combine and top with club soda.
Negroni
- 1 1/2 oz Gin
- 1 oz Campari
- 1 oz Sweet Vermouth
Combine all ingredients in mixing glass, add ice, and stir. Strain into a chilled rocks glass and garnish with an orange twist.
French 75
- 1 oz Gin
- ¾ oz Lemon
- 1 oz Simple Syrup
- 3 oz Champagne
Add all ingredients except champagne to shaker and add ice. Shake vigorously until the tin is frosted over. Strain into a champagne flute with champagne and garnish with a lemon twist.
